The most important skill to have before starting hockey is the ability to skate!   

The Jones Center now hosts skating classes with a hockey focus.

For ages 3-5, start with "SNOWPLOW SAM" or if you are 6 years and up, register for "BASIC 1".  We recommend completing Basic Levels 1-4 before moving to hockey.

Classes will be held Tuesdays from 10:00-10:30am, Wednesdays from 6:00-6:30pm, Thursdays from 6:00-6:30pm and now on Fridays from 5:00-5:30pm. 

The cost is $60 (Members) and $75 (Non-Members) for the 6 week session.

Northwest Arkansas Hockey Association, NWAHA, is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting and developing youth hockey in Northwest Arkansas. We believe every player should have the chance to participate in the great game of hockey, to learn the skills of the game, and be given the opportunity to achieve a sense of accomplishment through their participation.

NWAHA is an affiliate of the Southern Amateur Hockey Association.

We are raising scholarship funds in honor of one of our original Northwest Arkansas Ice Hogs, Logan Aprea, who recently passed away. His love of hockey and dedication as an Ice Hog will be honored and remembered. Logan was always happiest when he was on the ice. In his memory, this scholarship fund will be used to help other kids find their passion for hockey.
